Content & Policy
What you can publish, AI disclosure, rights, copyright, and why books get blocked.
- Can I publish PLR (private label rights) books?PLR content is discouraged because it's non-unique and stores reject duplicates. Heavily rewritten, original work under your name may be considered.
- Can I publish public domain books on Chiify?Public domain reprints are discouraged because stores reject duplicate, low-uniqueness editions. A genuinely original edition with new value may qualify.
- Do I need to prove I own the rights to my book?Usually your declaration is enough, but Chiify may ask for proof for flagged titles. Keep your manuscript files, copyright page, and any contracts. Here's why.
- EU compliance: GPSR and accessibility (EAA) explainedSelling into the EU brings rules like the GPSR (product safety) and the EAA (accessibility). Here's what they mean for authors and how Chiify helps.
- How do I declare AI-generated or AI-assisted content? When you upload, declare honestly whether your book is AI-generated, AI-assisted, or human-created. Stores require it, and accurate disclosure keeps your book compliant.
- How does Chiify protect my book from piracy?Chiify distributes through legitimate stores and you keep full copyright. Here's how to reduce piracy risk and what to do if your book is pirated.
- Trademark guidelines for authors and publishersDon't use trademarks you don't own in titles, covers, or metadata. Here's how to avoid trademark problems that get books rejected or removed.
- What content does Chiify accept and restrict?Chiify accepts original ebooks and audiobooks you hold the rights to. Pirated, plagiarised, placeholder, or illegal content is not allowed. Full policy here.
- What types of content are not allowed on Chiify?Chiify prohibits pirated/infringing work, plagiarism, placeholder text, hate speech, and illegal content. Here's the full not-allowed list and why.
- Why was my book blocked, and how do I fix it?Books are blocked for quality, placeholder text, or policy issues. Chiify moves them back to Drafts with reasons — fix the flagged items and resubmit.
