Why was my book blocked, and how do I fix it?
Books are blocked for quality, placeholder text, or policy issues. Chiify moves them back to Drafts with reasons — fix the flagged items and resubmit.

If a book was blocked, it failed Chiify's review — but it is almost always fixable. Blocked books move back to your Drafts with an explanation, and you can resubmit once you have addressed it.
The usual reasons
- Quality below the bar. The automated review scores manuscripts; very low scores (thin, repetitive, or error-filled text) are held back because stores would reject them anyway.
- Placeholder or template text. Leftover "insert title here", lorem ipsum, or KDP-template boilerplate must be removed.
- EPUB problems. Technical errors that retailers reject — see common EPUB errors.
- Rights or policy. Content you do not own, or that breaks our content policy.
How to fix it
- Open the book in your dashboard and read the reason we provided.
- Edit the flagged items — clean the text, replace the file, or correct the metadata.
- Resubmit for review. It goes back through the 24–48 hour queue.
A useful side effect
If a blocked book is wasting one of your upload slots, deleting it frees the slot immediately so you can publish something else.
We are on your side here — the review exists to stop your book from silently failing at a store.
