- Do I need an ISBN to publish with Chiify? +
- Some retailers require an ISBN, others don't. If you don't have one, Chiify provides a free platform-issued ISBN from our Bowker pool on any plan. If you bring your own ISBN (BYOI) from Bowker, Nielsen, or your country's national agency, we use that. Print formats almost always require an ISBN; ebooks vary by retailer.
- How long does it take for my book to go live? +
- Amazon Kindle is usually live within 24-72 hours. Apple Books, Google Play, and Kobo typically take 3-5 business days. IngramSpark print and library channels (OverDrive, Hoopla) take 1-3 weeks. We deliver to all retailers within an hour of approval; the wait is on their side.
- When do I get paid? +
- Monthly, on the 15th of the month following the sale. Sales in March are reported by retailers in April, reconciled by us, and paid to you on May 15th. Payout methods: USD via US bank ACH ($10 minimum), international wire ($50 minimum), PayPal ($10 minimum), or Nigerian Naira ($20,000 minimum).
- Can I use Chiify if I'm already on Amazon KDP? +
- Yes — Chiify is non-exclusive. You can keep your books on Amazon KDP and use Chiify to reach the 400+ other retailers and 50,000+ libraries you can't access through KDP alone (Apple Books, Kobo, Google Play, Barnes & Noble, OverDrive, Scribd, etc.). Many authors run both: KDP Select on Amazon and wide on every other channel through Chiify.
