How do I declare AI-generated or AI-assisted content?
When you upload, declare honestly whether your book is AI-generated, AI-assisted, or human-created. Stores require it, and accurate disclosure keeps your book compliant.

When you upload a book, Chiify asks you to declare how AI was used in creating it. Answering honestly is required — several stores now mandate this disclosure, and getting it wrong can get a book removed.
The three honest answers
- Human-created — you wrote it without generative AI producing the content.
- AI-assisted — you wrote it, but used AI tools to help (brainstorming, editing, suggestions). The substance is yours.
- AI-generated — generative AI produced substantial portions of the text, narration, or images.
Why it matters
- Store compliance. Retailers like Amazon ask distributors to pass along AI disclosure. Accurate answers keep your book in good standing.
- Trust. Honest labelling protects you if questions ever come up later.
What still applies
Declaring AI use does not exempt a book from Chiify's quality bar. AI-generated work that is thin, repetitive, or full of errors can still be blocked on quality grounds. Edit and polish before you submit.
Audiobooks
If your audiobook uses AI/synthetic narration, declare that too — some audio stores treat AI narration differently.
When in doubt, choose the more transparent option. Accurate disclosure costs you nothing and protects your catalogue.
