Uploading an ebook to Chiify takes a few steps, and we do the technical heavy lifting — free conversion, validation, and healing — for you.
Step by step
- Start a new book from your dashboard.
- Upload your manuscript. A Word DOCX gives the cleanest result; you can also upload PDF, RTF, ODT, TXT, or a finished EPUB. If you upload a document, Chiify converts it to a retail-grade EPUB 3 automatically.
- Preview and approve. For converted files, open the preview to see exactly how your book reflows, then click Use this EPUB. Nothing ships until you approve it. See I don't have an EPUB.
- Add your cover. Upload a high-resolution JPG or PNG — see cover image requirements.
- Fill in metadata — title, subtitle, author, description, categories, and keywords. Good metadata drives discovery.
- Set price, stores, and territories, then submit for review.
What happens next
Your book passes a human review and an automated quality check, usually within 24–48 hours. Once approved, Chiify delivers it to your chosen stores, which then list it on their own schedule.
