What are Chiify's cover image requirements?

A strong, correctly-sized cover is the single biggest driver of clicks — and stores reject covers that are too small. Here is what Chiify needs.

The specs

• Format: JPG or PNG.
• Resolution: at least 1400 pixels on the shortest side. The ideal is 1600 x 2560 (a 1:1.6 portrait ratio).
• Orientation: portrait, taller than it is wide.
• Colour: RGB.
• Text: make sure the title and author are legible even as a small thumbnail.

Why the size rule exists

Apple Books and several other stores reject covers under ~1400px, and a soft, pixelated cover hurts conversions everywhere. Chiify blocks undersized covers at upload so your book never silently fails at a retailer.

Common cover problems

• "Image is too small" — re-export at a higher resolution; do not upscale a tiny image, it will look blurry.
• "Embedded cover not found" — this is about the cover inside your EPUB; re-upload and let Chiify handle cover injection. See cover upload errors.
