How do I delete a book?

Deleting permanently removes a book from Chiify and tells your stores to take it down.

When to delete vs withdraw

• Withdraw if you might bring the book back — see withdraw and reinstate.
• Delete if you are sure you are done with it.

How to delete

1. Open the book and choose delete.
2. Chiify releases any assigned ISBN back to the pool and sends takedowns to stores.

What deleting does for your plan

Deleting frees an upload slot immediately, which matters on plans with a book limit — handy if a blocked book is using a slot you need.

Deletion is permanent and store listings (and their reviews) go away. If you are unsure, withdraw first.

Before you delete — a quick checklist

• Sure you won't relaunch? If unsure, withdraw instead so you can bring it back.
• Saved your files? Keep your manuscript and download your EPUB first.
• Noted the ISBN? A deleted book releases its ISBN; reusing it later on a new listing can be messy.

Once you confirm, the takedown goes to your stores and the upload slot is freed right away.
