Chiify cannot distribute an encrypted or DRM-locked file — stores need a clean, openable EPUB to ingest. If your file is protected, you will see an error.
Why it happens
- The EPUB was exported with DRM by some tool, or
- It was downloaded from a store (store copies are DRM-wrapped and cannot be redistributed — you must use your own master file).
How to fix it
- Use your own source file, not a copy bought or downloaded from a retailer.
- Export a DRM-free EPUB from your authoring tool, or
