Using the in-app EPUB reader

Open any book from your Library to launch the reader.

Navigation

• Tap the left edge → previous page
• Tap the right edge → next page
• Swipe left/right → page turn
• Tap the center → show/hide the chrome (top bar + bottom bar)

Customizing how it looks

The bottom bar has controls for every visual preference.

Theme

Cycle through three themes by tapping the theme button:

• Cream (default) — warm light background
• Sepia — slightly more amber, easier on the eyes in dim light
• Dark — dark gray background, light text, for night reading

Font size

Five sizes from 90% to 140%. Tap the Aa button to cycle through. The current size shows next to it (e.g., "Aa 3/5").

Bookmarks

• Tap ☆ in the bottom bar to bookmark the current page. The star turns ★.
• Tap ★ again to remove the bookmark.
• All your bookmarks sync across devices.

Highlights

To highlight a passage:

1. Long-press any word in the text. Drag the selection handles to extend.
2. A color picker slides up — pick yellow, pink, green, or blue.
3. The highlight is saved automatically.

See all your bookmarks and highlights

• Tap Notes in the bottom bar to open the Notes sheet.
• Each bookmark and highlight is listed; tap any to jump to that location.
• Tap Remove next to any entry to delete it.

Reading position sync

Every page turn updates your reading position on Chiify's server. Open the same book on another device — phone, tablet, web — and you continue exactly where you left off.

This works offline too: positions queue locally and sync on next connection.

Closing the reader

• Tap Close in the bottom bar, OR
• Use Android's back gesture / iOS's swipe-down on the modal.

Your last position is saved automatically — no "exit and save" prompt.
