The high-ROI list

  • Cover and blurb first. Most "marketing problems" are actually a weak cover or description. Fix these before anything else.
  • Write in a series. A strong book 1 sells every other book at full price. Discount book 1, profit on the rest.
  • Build an email list. Owned readers beat rented social audiences every time.
  • Reviews compound. Add an honest review request in your back matter — see getting reviews.

  • Be consistent. Regular releases train both readers and store algorithms.

What rarely works

  • One-off blasts with no follow-up.

  • Spreading thin across every platform at once.
