What the Prospect Heard First

Delia Ott is the first female prospect the Hollow Saints have ever let in, and even as the bottom rung she hears things nobody else in the room hears. She hears her cousin Anneke get called a saint. She hears her old man get called steady. Then she hears Dutch and the enforcer talking in the storage room about a girl in Joplin, and about how the whole chapter has been paying to keep Anneke in the dark. Delia doesn't blow the whistle on the spot. She keeps pouring coffee. She keeps taking notes. Three weeks later she walks into Anneke's tire shop with a tape, and the two cousins take the whole mess to the national review board. This is not a story about a woman who patches in anyway. This is a story about a prospect who learned what loyalty costs, and who spent it on her family instead.
