The Warlord's Claim

Rhea Okoro came to Senn for the severance pay. She did not come to be carried off a drilling rig by a nine-foot scaled warlord who says the stars promised her to him. Varrick of the Kesh has one problem he can't fight: his bloodline is dying, and the only cure the seers ever promised is a human with no interest in curing anything. But Rhea is a geologist, and the poison killing the Kesh's children is the same poison killing her crew — and it is not natural. When a rival warlord floods the deep aquifer to start a war, Rhea has one shot: the bond that lets her read Varrick's senses, and a comm tower she is not supposed to reach. She is not going to save him. She is going to work with him.
