The Vault of the Deep

Eight kilometres down, the Vault is a research station with one rule: don't ask about Tank Four. Dessa Okafor has been sent to certify that the specimen inside is not a person. It is. His name is Tekk, he was the station's safety officer, and when Dessa puts a hand on the glass, the mate bond hits like a pressure change and does not let up. Tekk found what the company is drilling through and they chained him in saltwater for it. Dessa has three weeks of contract, no working comms, and a crew that answers to the same people who built the tank. The drill has already cracked the fault under the station. The only way out is through the water, and the only way to survive it is together.
