The Unsent Letter

Cora Sann has been best friends with Marguerite Tate for eleven years, which means she has spent that entire time pretending not to notice Marguerite's older brother. Dash Tate is Brenner State's swim captain and a future Olympian — or he was, before a shoulder injury ended his season before it started. He's back now, swimming faster than ever, and refusing to speak to anyone about it. Cora runs the timing system on the pool deck. She's there at 5 a.m. when he is. She's the only person he'll sit next to. She knows exactly how bad an idea this is, and she keeps showing up anyway. Then his shoulder goes at conference finals and he won't get out of the water, and Cora has to make the call that ends his season. The thing he says after that, she can't take back. When she finally goes home for the summer and finds an old sealed envelope in a box of high school things, she has to decide whether she's still the girl who never sent it.
