The Thornwitch Trials

She was sent to arrest the witch. She stayed to save her. Rowan Carter has spent eleven years rooting out thornwitches for the crown. She knows their methods, their bargains, their tells. She has never once failed to bring one in. Then the southern gate grows teeth, and the only person who can explain it is the one witch she ever let walk away. Ives runs a hospice for witches the crown has already sentenced. She is stubborn, unrepentant, and better at Rowan's job than Rowan is. She is also the only person alive who has seen the scars beneath Rowan's uniform. Their truce is meant to last a week. It lasts until the palace burns. Because someone very close to the queen is feeding the old forest a soul a week — and the queen knows. The Thornwitch Trials is an enemies-to-lovers fantasy romance about two women who spent ten years on opposite sides of a war, and the one cause that finally puts them on the same one.
