The Rejected Nanny

Marisol Vega needs the job, not the alpha. Thornapple House comes with two young girls, a dead first mate, and a lord who will not look at her at breakfast. The contract is simple: no scenting, no heat leave, no contact. Marisol signs it and keeps her head down for eight months. Then Rowan Ashvale wakes her on the nursery floor, half-sleeping, and claims her with his mouth. When he comes back to himself he rejects her in front of the household and sends her to the far wing. She stays anyway, because the girls are not to blame, and because the first mate's letters are hidden in the toy chest, and because someone has been lying about what this house owes. Marisol does not have fangs and does not have a title. She has a photocopier and a solicitor in town, and that will have to be enough.
