The Quiet Garrison

Eleven soldiers from the same Alpine garrison have gone missing in eighteen months. All of them on night watch. All of them from the same company. Army CID Warrant Officer Odile Reyes flies in with a warrant, four days before the garrison rotates out and the evidence walks with it. What she finds is a garrison running exactly as it should. Cooperative commander. Clean logs. And a turned captain named Aurel who has been feeding his company his own blood for two years to keep them on their feet at altitude. Aurel didn't take the eleven. Someone human did, and is using the company's dependency as cover. Odile has four days to catch a murderer with a vampire's help and without burning the only evidence she has. She files two reports. Only one of them is true.
