The Professor She Buried

Juno Vane has been Bellhollow's safest cover for twelve years: a tenured literature professor, a mild schedule, no name on any family list. Then a transfer student enrolls late in her seminar with a Corso surname, and Juno recognizes him from a Madrid dinner a decade ago when he was nine. Adrián Corso was never meant to be a student. He was sent to campus to find the leak in his family's college operation, and he finds her instead. He doesn't expose her. He signs up for her second seminar, reads every book she assigns, and waits. Over one semester the two of them conduct the quietest courtship the family has ever survived, played out in office hours and departmental politics, until the leak is found and one of them is required to answer for it in writing. Juno is going to have to explain, in front of the don, exactly why she left.
