The Patch He Swore On

Tess Ocampo can drag a hundred-thousand-dollar wreck off a mountain in the dark. What she can't do is make her old man tell the truth. Bishop wore the Sons of Ash patch like it was a marriage vow, and for four years he kept a woman in Denver on the widows' fund he was supposed to protect. When Sloane calls the shop looking for Bishop's wife, Tess picks up. She doesn't slam the phone down. She gets in her truck and drives to Denver to meet her. Two women, one man, one file — and a national treasurer who wants to know why the widows' fund is short. This is not a story about getting him back. It is a story about a woman taking back a patch he was never fit to wear, and dragging her whole town up the mountain with her.
