The Night I Sold His Bike to His Brother

Quinn Delacroix has been the old lady of the Cypress Kings' vice president for nine years, and in that time she's never once asked Beau where his bike went. Now she knows. It's parked at a woman's house in Thibodaux, and it's been parked there for three of the four years Beau told her he'd sold it to pay her father's hospital bills. When Beau's brother Gunner asks Quinn to help him sell a bike out of her back lot, she says yes, and then she does something the whole bayou will still be talking about at Christmas. She names a price. She sells it in her own driveway, in front of witnesses. This is not a story about a wife who forgives. This is a story about a woman with a boat, a bite, and a brother-in-law who was dumb enough to hold the keys.
