The Colder Marshal

The railroad wants her silenced. The marshal is the only man standing between her and a bullet. Hester Voss knows exactly where her father buried the money that got him killed. Marshal Dorian Kade knows exactly what happens to witnesses who talk to the wrong people — he watched it happen to his wife, fifteen years ago, and never forgave himself. When a blizzard traps them in a line shack above timberline, the warrant in his coat becomes a kindling problem. Eight days of stove heat and withheld truth, and then the snow breaks and the railroad's guns are waiting at the pass. Hester rides the false trail down. Dorian rides the ridge above and comes out the other side carrying three rifles and a limp he'll keep for the rest of his life. She never told him where the money is. He never asked. That's the marriage. *A dark, age-gap snowbound western romance for readers who like their love stories at forty below.*
