The Captain's Ugly Sweater

Gabriel Okafor has captained the Boston Wardens for six seasons and has never once been photographed in anything other than a tailored suit. It is a rule. It is a personality. Maddy Cho runs the thrift shop across from the practice arena and has just been voluntold to coordinate the team's holiday sweater drive, so she knits the captain an ugly sweater on purpose, because he is rude. He wears it. The photo goes everywhere. His agent is furious, the league is delighted, and Maddy is suddenly the most famous knitter in New England. What starts as a prank becomes Tuesdays at the shop, a shop dog named Biscuit, and a man slowly telling the truth about the sister he hasn't spoken to in four years. Then Maddy finds a contract in his coat pocket. Some things you can't knit back together. Some things you have to say out loud.
