The Captain's Quiet House

Astrid Nyholm was hired to fix an alarm system. She fixed the alarm system. Then she looked at the wrong wall. Now she lives in the house on the Skåne coast, rewiring it circuit by circuit while a smuggling crew moves cargo past her window, and the crew's captain — a quiet, tired man named Jesper Lindqvist — watches her work with the patience of someone who intends to keep her alive and doesn't intend to explain why. Four months is the timetable. Four months under one roof with a man who leaves coffee on the stairs for her and a sister who won't look her in the eye. When the crew turns on itself, the only thing in that house worth more than the manifest is the two of them, and only one of them will get to carry it out.
