The Captain's Distant Star

Captain Yusra Demir has one rule on the Halcyon: you don't board a plague ship. She boards it anyway and finds one survivor — Serekh, a Veltran physician who has spent four months with the dead and won't leave until they're honoured. He's not contagious. He's also not grateful. He needs to reach his guild's archive before the colonies burn it, and he needs her ship to do it. Yusra needs her contract paid, and the detour will cost her everything: the payout, her rating, her berth. She takes the detour. What's in the archive is not a cure. It's a seed — and a set of coordinates to a colony ship that vanished sixty years ago. A steamy alien doctor romance about the woman who gave up a paycheck and the physician who gave up a hospital berth to fly somewhere no one has been.
