The Capo's Cruel Vow

Ilaria Conti took one night to settle a debt and eight years to build a life away from the name. Now she is in the family chapel at Monteverde, under a false name, chipping plaster off a wall. She is not surprised when Mattea Conti walks in. She is surprised that he has been looking for her every year since. Under the plaster is a fresco of a Conti bride with a child at her side and a knife in the border. The family calls it a curse: an heir raised outside the walls inherits nothing. Mattea has a son. He does not know it yet. He will. A dark gothic capo romance of fresco dust, old curses, and a contract written to be signed.
