The Bruised Blue Line

A veteran defenseman is dead in a hotel stairwell and the Coastal League wants it called an overdose by Friday. Integrity investigator Anya Solberg wants three more weeks. The last two people to see Pavel Novak alive are Boston's captain, Andrew Reyes, and assistant coach Jae-Min Park. Both refuse to cooperate. Both are lying. Both, according to the key records, were in the room next door. As Anya pulls apart a season of quiet violence, a buried head-injury protocol, and an NDA nobody was supposed to read, the version of the night that the league wants becomes harder and harder to write down. A dark MMM hockey mystery thriller about the men who were there and the men who made sure nobody would ask.
