The Brother Who Betrayed Her

Ripper was supposed to be mine. Then the Black Jesters ordered him to marry a rival's daughter to seal a truce, and he did it without telling me. I found out from the newsletter. Three years later, his brother is bleeding on my motel doorstep at two in the morning. The truce is broken. Ripper's wife is dead. The men who killed her are coming. I take his brother in because I'm not a monster. I take Ripper in because he finally stood still when I needed him. But he sleeps in his truck until I say otherwise. And when the club comes for the boy, I'm the one standing on the lawn.
