Sworn to the Silent Prince

Kaia Anselm has been sent to the Silent Prince to be his pen. Whatever he signs, she writes; whatever she writes goes back to her own king. The prince hasn't spoken since he was seven. He has spent the years since ruling the paperwork of his family's wars, and he is famous for it. Kaia expects cruelty. What she gets is a locked study, a hundred unsigned notes, and a man who writes paragraphs in the margins of her transcripts where other men would shout. She starts cataloging the way his slanted handwriting changes when he is tired, or angry, or — she doesn't want to name it — interested. When her king orders her to forge a document that will start a war, Kaia has to decide whose voice to obey: the king who bought her, or the man who has written her more words than anyone alive.
