Say My Name in the Boardroom

Zuri Adeyemi teaches one night class a week at Bellhaven Academy and tells herself it's temporary. Then the board chair asks her to audit the scholarship fund, and she says yes before she's smart enough to ask why her. Bastian Cho doesn't hire people he can't control. He hires Zuri because he can't. She finds the money in three weeks and the nerve to say so out loud. They work late. They fight about scope. They stop fighting about scope. The dean has photos. The board has terms. And the only way out — for both of them — is for Bastian to stand in front of the room he built and read the truth into the record.
