Rhea Odell fights for cash and pays her coach out of a shoebox. Marcus Aurelio owns the promotion, the venue, and every camera that has ever missed her. He signs her the morning after she takes a bout on four days' notice and wins ugly, and tells everyone it's business. It might even be true, until he starts walking her to the locker room and booking her opponents he knows she'll beat. When a rival gym offers her coach a better deal, Marcus matches it without asking her — and Rhea finds out from a fighter in the locker room, not from him. She takes the title bout without his help, without his corner, with a cut over her eye and her sister calling the combinations. Afterward, in an arena emptied of everyone, she finds him sweeping tape into a corner. He has sold the promotion so he'll never be her boss again. She takes the broom out of his hand. Neither of them does press.
