A Cozy Fall Harvest Monster Romance
by Sambient Larzo
She inherited a failing pumpkin farm. It came with a seven-foot scarecrow who wants her gone.
Juniper Hale has pulled her last espresso shot. Laid off, broke, and out of options, she drives up to tiny Merrow Falls, Vermont, to sell the pumpkin farm her great-uncle left her. The bank wants $38,500 by the end of November or it takes everything.
Her first morning, her FOR SALE sign is in the hedge. Her second, the scarecrow in the middle field climbs down off his pole and informs her it's his hedge.
Tobias has guarded Pumpkin & Pine since 1945. He's made of straw, patched wool, and principle. He hates change, city people, and paper cups. He also harvested three thousand pumpkins by hand after her uncle died, and he's never once told anyone why.
To save the farm, Juniper opens a pumpkin spice pop-up in his barn, and the grumpiest scarecrow in Vermont has to carry pumpkins for the customers. Between the string lights he hates and the latte he can't drink but can't stop smelling, Juniper starts to wonder what the loneliest thing in the field really wants. Then again, nobody has ever asked him.
