Poison and Pastry

Odette Bleu makes the best almond croissant on Bainbridge Island. She is about to become famous for it — for all the wrong reasons. When the sour chairman of the tourist board drops dead at her counter with a bite of that croissant in his mouth, the medical examiner says cyanide and the town says Odette. Her ex-husband happily supplies a statement. Her pastry case is now evidence. Odette has a patisserie to save, a supplier to bury (he dies next), and a suspicion that someone is using her ingredient orders as a very tidy weapon. With her sly pastry chef Viv and a detective who actually believes her, she follows a shipment of almond extract to a marina warehouse and a tour-boat captain nobody suspects. She's about to serve the island a confession — with coffee.
