No Wolves, No Witnesses

Saint-Ourse has kept its bargain for two centuries: no wolves inside the walls, no witnesses outside them. Sylvie Marchetti came home to bury her aunt and found the ledger still open, the ink still wet, and a new lord of the hunt with her family's handwriting in his pocket. The village wants a keeper. Sylvie would rather empty the village from the inside. But the spring hunt is coming, the pack does not accept blank pages, and someone in Saint-Ourse is going to walk into the trees. She intends to choose who.
