I left Cypress Bend the morning of my own wedding and didn't come back for six years. Now my grandfather's had a stroke, the tack shop roof is leaking, and the three Broussard brothers are exactly where I left them. Remy still wears the ring I gave back. Beau still won't look at me at the feed store. Luc wrote me forty-seven letters I never answered. They have a proposal: three weeks of shared work, no secrets, no goodbyes. I have a counter-proposal: I'll listen to anything they have to say, and then I'll decide. The parish is watching. The cane is coming in.
