Mirrorwright

Kira Glass makes mirrors that show what's actually there — her clients find it unsettling. She finds it practical, until the day the mirror she's restoring shows a room that isn't there, and a man watching her from the other side of six hundred years. Anselm is a knight of a court sealed inside its own reflections during a war nobody won. He has been trying to reach a mirrorwright ever since. He cannot lie to Kira. He cannot break his word. He can, apparently, stand in her basement for three hours while she works and say nothing, which she finds either very frustrating or very attractive, depending on the batch of silver. Three mirrors are hidden in Chicago. When they open them all, Anselm will have to choose: go back and seal his court forever, or step out and leave his people inside. Kira has a better idea. She's a mirrorwright. She can fork a reflection.
