In 1977 he promised to fly her to Montreal. He didn't show. Fifty years later, he walks into her diner and orders a slice of pie.

Everett Vane is a thunderbird, and the storms have followed him all his life. He's the man a twenty-five-year-old waitress was supposed to run away with at dawn, fifty years ago. He never came.

Lightning Strikes Twice is a tender, funny, later-in-life second-chance monster romance with a love story fifty years in the making, a sharp-tongued heroine in her seventies and a devoted silver-haired hero, a diner, a lot of pie, and a flight over the storm to Montreal, a whole town that finally gets to take care of the woman who took care of them, a closed door, and a guaranteed happily-ever-after.
