The war Silas Vane thought he'd end keeps finding new ways to begin. To stand a chance, Silas must forge a fleet from former enemies, rally the Free Chorus of liberated souls, and pass a trial the insectoid Kyr consider a matter of life and death: a simulated war fought inside his own mind, where pain is real and failure means the alliance walks away. At his side, Thalia — dead four years and still refusing to leave him — carries a copy of his very identity, the last thing standing between Silas and total unmaking. As the fleets converge on a single point of light, Silas has to answer a question bigger than survival: can something built on grief and connection outlast a force that has never known anything but hunger? The Legion's final battle is also its first real test of what it's become.
