Hunted by the Hitman

Adrian Boatwright is a court translator. He's careful with his life, fluent in four languages, and quietly in love with a man he only ever sees at the same café — black coffee, book in hand, never looks up. Then a federal witness is killed in a courthouse elevator, and Adrian is the only person alive who saw the shooter's face. The shooter is the man from the café. His name is Enzo Salvatore. He's not here to finish the job. He's here because the people who ordered the hit have decided Adrian is a loose end, and Enzo — against every rule of his profession — has refused. Nine days on the run through Chicago's backlots and cold motels. Enzo's rules start coming off one by one. He stops calling Adrian a liability. He kills a man in a parking lot for putting a hand on Adrian's shoulder. And when the final choice comes, he walks into an FBI office with his hands up — not because Adrian asked him to, but because Adrian is watching. A dark MM mafia romance about the hitman who wouldn't finish the job.
