Hollow and Halo

For nine years I kept a sealed chapel in a city that stopped believing. Then the three who were sealed inside broke out, and they didn't kill me. They asked me for help. Hollow, who has no face and takes one from everyone he meets. Halo, whose wings are broken and whose voice still opens locked doors. Ash, who was a priest before he became the thing that hears confessions now. They want to be unbound, and I'm the only one left who can do it. My vows say no. The old charter says yes, and it says a great deal more. I've spent nine years reading about faith. This autumn I'm going to practice it, in a chapel full of monsters, and I'm going to find out what happens when the three of us stop pretending they're not mine.
