Holding the Southbound Line

Denny Savin runs the southbound line for the Copperhead Union, and he has never once wanted anyone to know his name. Then the hijackings start, the club needs a public face, and the man who shows up with a briefcase and a manila envelope is August Reyes — insurance adjuster, El Paso native, and the brother of the man Denny buried eleven years ago without ever saying the name. Ninety days. A rented apartment. A handshake for the cameras and a ledger that doesn't balance. Because August finds a route the Union doesn't run. Same cargo, same nights, different crew. And following it leads straight back to the club's own table. Some debts get paid on the road. Some get read aloud at the vote. A fake dating MC romance about freight, files, and the state line where it all started.
