Hit the Lights

Priya Raghunathan has fought under a borrowed name for four years. It kept her off her family's radar. It didn't keep her off the Kovač family's. When a fight-night shakedown goes sideways, the gym is seized, the contracts are frozen, and Priya is handed to Viktor Kovač — the fixer who keeps the family's books and its fighters in line. His job is to make sure she throws three bouts and disappears. His problem is that Priya doesn't throw fights, and she has already noticed that Viktor's name is on the gym's deed as much as his uncle's. They have one apartment, one heavy bag, and eleven weeks before the family expects a loss. On fight night, somebody in that building has to lose something real.
