His Old Lady Lied and Left

Eleven years. Not one ring. One phone call at the worst moment of her life. I told my own old lady to fix the club's problem or leave, and God help me, she left. Mellie took the Kings' books to the feds. It cost me the club presidency for six months and half the men I grew up with. Two years later her brother is dying and she's walking through the hospital door like the past isn't standing between us. She lied to the investigators to keep me out of prison. I never told her I would have fixed it if she'd given me one more week. There's a lot we both owe. I'll pay mine first, on my knees, in front of the whole club.
