His Gilded Prison

Lila Quintero has cleaned the penthouse floor at the Vasiliev Hotel for eight months and has never once seen the owner. She knows the price of a night there to the dollar. She knows what it would pay for. Then a housekeeper gets hurt, and Lila gets driven upstairs, and the man in the black armchair offers her a contract. Live-in house manager. Triple the pay. Read it before you sign, he says, and she does, because she's not an idiot. Six months later she knows the hotel isn't the hotel, the guests aren't guests, and the son is not the son he pretends to be. She also knows what he sounds like at dinner when there's no one to perform for. A Russian mafia rags to romance novel about the woman who read the contract and the man who never expected her to.
