Her Viking's Wicked Vow

The abbey burned in the night and three men walked out of it alive: a Norse jarl's son with a ruined hand, a Highland heir with a dead father, and a young scribe who remembers every name in the ledger of the men who did it. They swear a vow in the ruined chapel. Protection, provision, patience. Nothing more. Three weeks later, in a stable loft above the snow, they break it. The men who burned the abbey are raiding the coast now, and the only way to stop them is to ride south with three names and a blood debt. When it is done, and the ground has been counted, there will be one deed with three signatures on it and a keep standing where the abbey used to be.
