Ivo eats curses for a living. Haunted houses, angry keepsakes, whatever's been left behind. Marisol designs games for a living, and her newest one, Bitterfield, has started leaking into the real world — posting notifications on her phone that she never wrote. Ivo is already inside. He clears a floor in his sleep and wakes up with loot. Marisol builds a party she can't play. When a character death sticks to Ivo's real body, they stop being client and designer and start being teammates. The leak isn't a bug. It's a door. And behind it is a player Marisol abandoned in beta — a daughter she wrote, tested, and filed away. The publisher wants the game closed. Marisol wants it opened. Ivo just wants to hold the line until morning.
