Claiming the Bookkeeper

Safia Barros was very good at her job. She is the forensic accountant who put two of the Antonov bratva's shell companies on a federal list — under a fake name, from a laptop, from an apartment with a cat. Then someone worked out who she was. Anton Antonov, the pakhan, does not kill her. He does not let anyone else kill her either. He locks her in the apartment above his restaurant and hands her a laptop and tells her to put the money back in a different shape, and it will take seven weeks. She is not allowed to leave. She checks the fire door anyway. It opens. She sits on the stoop until he finds her. That is week three of seven. This is an enemies to lovers bratva romance with a captive situation written the way it would actually go — no cages, no begging, one unlocked door neither of them mentions again.
