Borrowed Bride, Broken Debt

Aoife Brennan's wedding was a signing ceremony. The groom didn't stay for the cake. There are three loans on her now and three Callaghans holding them. Ronan, who has never in his life used his hands for anything he could do with a page. Fionn, who does the opposite. Tadhg, who owns the pubs and is now short a bartender. Four months to settle the debt or the pubs close and Aoife goes to a man in Liverpool whose name she has been politely told not to learn. So she does the only thing nobody is expecting. She starts pouring. She learns the till, then the book, then the second book. She finds out where her husband is — Dublin, paying rent, no forwarding — and she does not tell the brothers. Because somewhere in the third month she stops being the loan and starts being the lender.
