Watched by the Capo

Frankie Donnelly left her husband at three in the morning with one duffel bag and no forwarding address. Three weeks later, someone was in her apartment. The frame on her wall wasn't crooked when she left. The flowers weren't hers. The police took notes. Her ex-husband is a dentist with a clean record and a good lawyer. Nothing happened. What Frankie doesn't know is that the man watching her is not her ex-husband. He is a capo with a book of accounts, and her ex is three hundred thousand dollars in the red. Frankie was supposed to be leverage. He didn't plan on her asking for terms. She takes the deal. She testifies. Her ex goes to prison. The divorce is final. And the man who watched her knocks now. Every time. A divorce romance about the woman who negotiated her way out.
