The Widowed Contractor

Emmy Nash needs a job and a place to sleep. Boone Whitlock needs somebody to cook and keep the house he can't bear to finish. He's fifty-six. She's twenty-three. He's her employer. It's a terrible idea on paper. But Emmy reads blueprints, and Boone's half-built house has a nursery in it that nobody's touched in four years. Bit by bit she finishes the rooms he abandoned — the porch, the shelves, the closet — and bit by bit he stops being able to look away. When the town starts talking and Boone's daughter comes home to put a stop to it, Emmy has to decide whether to take the easy road out of Perdition Springs or stay and finish what someone started.
