The Vengeful Captain

Sofia Russo is a detective's daughter in a neighborhood run by families like the Gallos. She knows the rules. She follows them. She's planning to leave Providence the first chance she gets. Matteo Gallo runs Verrazzano High from a corner of the parking lot and finishes his homework in the back of his grandmother's bakery. He's eighteen. He's already the captain of something Sofia's father has spent three years trying to build a case against. They are assigned to the same chemistry lab table. They fall in love anyway. When Sofia's father's task force closes in, Sofia has to decide what she owes the family that raised her — and what she owes the boy she's starting to love. A high school capo romance about two kids from opposite sides of the same city, and the year they both decided to tell the truth.
